Follow these steps and recommendations on how to take photos of your patient's body to obtain a good quality and accurate body 3D model.
Device
- You can use any device (phone, tablet or camera).
- Hold the device steady. If applicable, use a tripod to avoid unwanted movements.
- Make sure the device is vertically as upright as possible.
Room and light
- Uniform light.
- Avoid shadows and shades. Pay special attention to the shadows created from one leg to the other.
- Avoid a busy background or with unwanted objects to obtain clear contours and shapes.
Clothing
- If possible, your patient must be completely nude. If not, ask them to wear tight-fitting or seamless underwear to avoid unwanted lines.
Pose and position
- Patient must stand still.
- Hands and arms: ask patients to place their hands on their chest and lift their elbows up. Elbows must be in line with the shoulders. With this, abdomen and flanks contours will be clearly identified.
- Feet: ask patients to keep them 20 cm (8 in) apart. Thus, the top part of your legs will be clearly defined in the 3D model.
Frame and angle
- Make sure that each photo includes the whole region from neck to shins.
- Left and right side photos must be taken from a 90° angle.
Photos
- Take four photos (Front - Left - Right - Back) as similar as possible to the examples presented on the relevant body 3D simulation screen.
